I am a producer, writer, director and motion graphics designer who specialises in book trailers. Quite simply, a book trailer is a video “teaser” designed to promote a book. It uses elements such as music, text, graphics, voice-over and video to capture the tone of the book and attract readers. While book trailers can be used as advertisements on TV or at the cinema, they are most commonly viewed on the web and on social networks such as YouTube, MySpace and Facebook, as well as bookseller and author websites. As more and more books are being sold and discussed online, the web is becoming the ideal place to get the attention of readers and generate buzz. Reviews"That YouTube trailer for 'Five Greatest Warriors' makes me want to read it...and I wrote it! "I dare you to watch [the Gone book trailer] and not feel compelled to read the book." "If I see a better book trailer all year, I’ll be shocked." "This is AWSM! Even if I say so myself. About my own book trailer." "Book marketing should step outside the available resources more often, as the Gone trailer demonstrates." "[Paul Murphy] a un point de vue tout à fait pertinent sur la promotion d'un ouvrage en ligne !" or "[Paul Murphy] has a point of view very relevant to the promotion of a book online!" |
